Privacy

What we collect

• Your account — name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
• Your study record — which cards you have answered and whether you got them right, your practice exam attempts, your formula drill results, and your study-plan ticks. This is the product; it exists so the app can schedule what to show you next.
• Your exam date, if you choose to give one. It is optional and only drives the countdown.
• Purchases — the amount, the date, and a Stripe reference. We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles the payment page and we only receive confirmation that it succeeded.
• How you found us — if you arrived from an advert, a link someone posted, or another site, we keep the source (for example reddit.com) and the first page you landed on. Those two values sit in a cookie on your device for 30 days and are copied onto your account if you sign up. It is a name and a path, never a person: we do not keep the address of the page you came from, and a direct visit records nothing at all.

Your own code books stay on your device

The app lets you add a PDF you already own — your NEC, your 70E, the Cal/OSHA guide — so you can search it. That file is read and indexed in your browser and stored in your browser's own database. It is never uploaded. There is no server route that could receive one, no database column that could record one, and an automated test fails the build if anyone adds either. Which book you have is not information we hold.

Analytics, and where it stops

We use Google Analytics on the public pages — this one, the guides, the practice test, and the login and sign-up pages — to see which pages bring people here. That uses cookies and sends Google your IP address and the pages you viewed.

It is not loaded once you are signed in. No analytics script runs on the dashboard, the study pages, the practice exam, the drill or the reference shelf. What you study, how often, and how well is never sent to Google or anyone else. We have turned off Google's advertising and cross-site personalisation signals, so this is measurement rather than ad targeting.

One thing is sent to Google from our own server rather than from your browser: a confirmation that a purchase happened — the amount and the Stripe reference — so we can tell which pages bring us customers rather than just visitors. It is sent whether or not you were still on the page. It carries no name, no email address and nothing about what you have studied.

You can block it with any content blocker and the app will work exactly the same.

Affiliate links

The book recommendations on what to buy link to Amazon with a referral tag on the end of the URL. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It costs you nothing extra.

Mechanically that is all it is: a query parameter. No Amazon script loads on this site, there is no pixel, no iframe, and no redirect through our own server — the link points straight at amazon.com. Delete the tag from the URL and everything works identically; we would simply earn nothing.

We do not know who clicked. Amazon reports totals — items shipped, commission earned — and never tells us which person bought what. Nothing about your study record is joined to any of it, and no publisher pays for placement or wording. The free ways to read both code books are listed above the paid ones for that reason.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
• We do not send marketing email. The only email you will get is about your account.
• We do not run advertising, and there are no third-party ad or social pixels on this site. Some book links are affiliate links, which is a tag in the URL and nothing else — see below.

Your rights

California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. You can delete your account and everything attached to it from your profile page at any time, or email us and we will do it. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of.

We keep your study record for as long as your account exists. Purchase records are kept longer, because they are financial records.
